第42回全国高等学校総合文化祭「2018信州総文祭文芸部門」に、散文部門神奈川県代表として

高校２年の山本采花さんが参加しました。

この全国大会は8月7日～11日に長野全県で行われ文芸部門は8日～10日佐久市で開催されました。

初日の開会式の後に、長野を代表する堀辰雄・島崎藤村ら文豪の足跡を辿るツアーが行われました。

２日目は各都道府県代表者と机を並べ、即席で創作したり、代表として選考された作品を評し

合ったりする合評会を行いました。

最終日は、現在活躍中の歌人の講演会を聞き、実践にも生きる有意義な時間を過ごしました。

この成果を持ち帰り、他の部員ともに今後の活動に役立てていきたいと思います。

8月6日(月)、7日(火)の２日間、東京・品川において全国高校教育模擬国連が行われました。全国から約５００名の高校生が集まって開かれた、規模の大きな大会です。

今回は「サイバーセキュリティー」をテーマに議論が行われ、本校からは高校１年生から３年生までの１２名の生徒が参加しました。

今後重要性が増してくることが必至のサイバー空間に関連した法整備、安全保障の確立について話し合いましたが、新しい話題のため、事前リサーチではなかなか情報が見つからず苦戦していました。しかし、どの生徒もよく調べて自分なりの考えを持ち、他の大使役の生徒と意見交換ができました。生徒の能力の高さや順応性には感心します。

今後は冬に校内でも、また他校でも模擬国連が行われます。興味のある山手生はぜひチャレンジしてみてください。

２週間のホームステイを終えて、ゲスト生がアメリカ・カナダへの帰途につきました。日本でのよい思い出を、たくさん持って帰ってくれることでしょう。

いつかまた必ず会える。そう願ってバスを見送りました。

ホストファミリーの皆様をはじめ、山手の北米研修プログラムを支えてくださっているすべての皆様に感謝申し上げます。

２週目からは、午前中のACSでの授業の後、シンガポール国立大学（NUS）で１週目とは異なる英語のレッスンを受けました。生徒たちは５つのグループに分かれ、それぞれが国を代表します。グループごとに調べ学習の材料を与えられ、最終的にはその国での旅行行程表を作成します。NUSの学生も参加して、英語のお手伝いをしてくれました。

From the second week, students have been participating in other English classes at National University of Singapore after their morning classes at ACS. Students are divided into five different groups in class, each representing a country that is assigned by the instructor. They are provided with some research materials about their assigned country and the final goal is to create a travel itinerary of the assigned country. A few NUS students also participate in class to help our students with English.

昨日は、NUSの学生がキャンパスツアーをしてくれました。NUSには世界中から学生たちが集まっていて、国際的な雰囲気がいっぱいでした。敷地の広さと学生も訪問者も利用できる施設に、生徒たちは驚くばかりでした。

Yesterday, NUS students gave a tour of the university. The campus seemed very international with many students coming from all over the world. Our students were amazed by the size of the campus and all the facilities available for the NUS students as well as visitors.

明日の帰国のための準備で早く寮に戻ります。たくさんの刺激と学びのあったシンガポールでの２週間でした。

We are going back to the dormitory early today to get ready to go back to Japan tomorrow. It has been exciting and productive two weeks in Singapore, but we are now ready to be back home.

週末２日間の遠足を終えて、２週目の通学が始まりました。やや疲れも見えますが、授業に戻って、シンガポールでの残りの日々を楽しもうという姿勢が見られます。

Today is the first day of the second week back to school after two days of the excursions on the weekend. Students seem a little tired but are ready to get back the classes and enjoy the rest of the time here in Singapore.

土曜日には、シンガポールで人気の観光スポット「ガーデンバイザベイ」という、町の中心地に位置する自然公園へ行きました。公園で数時間を過ごしてから、セントーサ島につながる橋があるショッピングモールに移動しました。生徒たちはビーチで涼んだりしながら楽しい時間を過ごしました。島で見つけた乗り物にチャレンジした生徒もいました。セントーサ島での食事を終えて、帰寮しました。

On Saturday, we went to Gardens by the Bay, a nature park located in the center of the city, also a very popular tourist spot here in Singapore. After spending a couple of hours at the park, we moved to a shopping mall where there is a bridge that connects the mall to the Sentosa Island. Students had a great time at the beach, cooling off in the water, and some of them tried the rides they found on the beach. We came back to the dormitory after the dinner at the beach.

日曜日の午前中は、国立歴史博物館でシンガポールの歴史を学びました。近くのショッピングモールでお昼ご飯を食べてから、午後の遠足へ出かけました。ショッピングモールで自由に買い物をするのが楽しかったようです。午後は、シンガポール内外からのイスラム教徒が集まるモスクを訪れました。モスクでは中に入ることができて、ユニークな建築や内装を見て楽しむことができました。

On Sunday, we went to the national history gallery in the morning and learned the history of Singapore. For lunch we moved to a nearby mall and spend time there before they embarked on the culture tour in the afternoon. Students were most excited when they were given free time at the mall doing and buying what they wanted. For the culture tour, first we visited a mosque where all the Muslim population in Singapore as well as other Muslims from other countries come to pray. We went inside the mosque and were able to enjoy the unique architecture and design of the place.

生徒たちは遠足をすべて終え、今日はACSで私の授業があります。授業はこの一週間を振り返るためのもので、シンガポールでのバディについてのちょっとしたプレゼンテーションも行います。明日からは午後にNUS（シンガポール国立大学）へ行き、別の講師による英語の授業を受けることになります。

All the excursions are finished and today students have a class with me at ACS. It is designed for students to reflect on their past one week in Singapore and also do a mini presentation on their Singaporean buddy. From tomorrow, they are going to NUS in the afternoon and participate another English classes with other instructors.
